Friedrich started his musical career in 1989, by playing Euphonium in his local orchestra of Schwäbisch Hall. In 1996 he began studying trombone, and has since played in various big bands, jazz bands, and funk & soul bands. Friedrich had his professional debut in 1996 at the Freilichtspiele Schwäbisch Hall and went on to study classical trombone at the Musikakademie Dinkelsbuehl/Bavaria. In 2004, he went on to studying jazz trombone at the University of Arts/Jazz Institut Berlin, with Prof. Jiggs Whigham, Prof. Ludwig Nuss, Prof. Gerard Presencer, Prof. Peter Weniger and Prof. Olaf Ott (Berlin Philharmonics). He graduated in february 2009. More lessons with Luis Bonilla in NYC.

Friedrich has toured throughout the world with several bands, orchestras and big bands. Although Friedrich’s main passion is the trombone, he also enjoys playing the drums.
